In this reading of Lord of the Flies, Ralph, Piggy and Samneric are going to go to Jack's camp and get back Piggy's glasses which Jack stole at the end of chapters 9 and 10. When Jack took Piggy's glasses he wanted to start a fire and it symbolized the complete loss of civilization. Piggy can't see without his glasses and Ralph can't make a fire and have any hope of being rescued. Piggy tells Ralph to blow the conch but he doesn't think it's going to do anything, but he does anyways. None of the boys on the island respond to it so we know that all authority and power has been lost on the island.
Ralph and Piggy travel to the Castle Rock where Jack's tribe lives and try to get back Piggy's glasses. Jack refuses to give them back and Roger pushes a rock down on Piggy and kills him. This symbolizes the end of any civilization or authority on the island as well.
The conch was shattered into a million pieces. The symbolizes the loss of authority and power. Without the conch, no one will think much of Ralph, the actual leader.
The tribe then taunts and chases Ralph off. They are going to try and hunt and kill him the next day. This represents the peoplee in our society today that would put down anyone they don't like or get along with.
In the end, a man shows up and speaks to the boys. As soon as he meets the boys they all are quiet and not savage at the moment. This explains what order and adults do to a society to make rules and keep the civilization.
